Camp Description

Join Studio Playground and Moses Brown School for our summer theater camp! Studio Playground teaches classes based in physical acting. Students explore the health benefits of laughter through movement, performance, and playful improvisation as they form lasting memories. Our classes emphasize individual growth as students learn concepts to promote empathy and creative development. This program culminates in 2 performances in Providence, Rhode Island.

In this 2-week camp, students create an original show under the guidance of Studio Playground's experienced teaching artists. Each day begins with a group warm-up and movement game as students learn skills for collaboration and ensemble development. In the first week, classes focus on building performance skills through theater games and developing original characters. In the second week, students focus on the production as they determine the theme for our play and become immersed in the rehearsal process.

Camp occurs Monday-Friday, 8:30am-3pm. An invited performance for friends and family takes place Friday, July 25 on Moses Brown School campus. On Saturday, July 26, there will be a public performance at the Providence Fringe Festival.
